We keep your conversations secure and never sell them. You choose how long we keep your data and can ask us to delete it.

How we protect it

  • Timed deletion - we delete conversations 90 days after your last message; support memories stay while your account is active
  • UK hosted - all data stored in the UK

  • Data export - ask for a copy of your data in a format you can take elsewhere
  • Checked against NHS standards - we chose our AI provider after checking it against NHS data handling and UK GDPR rules

How SpektraBot works

  • Powered by an AI model we checked against UK GDPR and NHS data handling rules
  • Looks up information from a carefully chosen library of SEND guidance
  • References the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and publicly available local authority information
  • All chat responses are labelled as AI-generated

Limitations

  • SpektraBot is not a legal advisor
  • It cannot access your child's individual records or EHCP
  • It may sometimes give wrong or incomplete information
  • It does not replace professional support from SENDIASS, IPSEA, or qualified solicitors

How we evaluate accuracy

We test SpektraBot regularly using a wide range of real SEND questions from different perspectives. We check that it correctly refers to your rights, cites the right sources, and stays safe. We use the results to improve SpektraBot's answers over time.

If SpektraBot gives you incorrect information, please let us know at support@spektrabot.co.uk. Your feedback directly improves the system.

Accessibility

What we test

  • Automated accessibility scans (WCAG 2.2 AA) on every public page
  • Colour contrast checks so text is easy to read
  • Keyboard navigation so you can use the site without a mouse
  • Correct labels on forms and buttons for screen readers
  • Reduced animation for people who find movement uncomfortable

What we acknowledge

  • Automated tools only catch some accessibility issues, not all
  • We also test by hand, but we have not yet had an independent audit
  • We test with VoiceOver (macOS) but have not yet tested with all screen readers
